Father’s Day Celebration Cake
Start this fabulous Fathers Day cake at least 1 day in advance to ensure there is enough time for the icing to set.

- 20g ready to roll black icing
- 80g ready to roll white icing
- blue gel food colouring
- 80g ready to roll red icing
- 1 2kg coles chocolate celebration cake
The Instruction of father s day celebration cake
- to make the moustache knead the black icing on a lightly oiled surface until smooth roll out three quarters of the black icing to a 2cm thick disc use a small sharp knife to cut a moustache shape from the black icing reserving excess dip 1 end of a lollipop stick in water and insert in the centre of the bottom of the moustache set aside overnight to dry cover the reserved black icing with plastic wrap
- meanwhile to make the buttons knead the white icing on a surface lightly dusted with icing sugar until smooth roll out 20g of the white icing to a 3mm thick disc use a 3cm cutter to cut 2 discs from the white icing use the flat end of a skewer to make four indents in each disc to make buttonholes
- to make the bow tint the remaining white icing blue with food colouring kneading on a surface lightly dusted with cornflour until food colouring is well combined roll out the blue icing to a 3mm thick disc use a small sharp knife to cut two 3cm wide 8cm long rectangles from the blue icing reserving excess place 1 rectangle on a clean work surface brush 1 short end with a little water fold over the other short end of the rectangle arranging cotton balls between the layers to keep open and pinch to seal the ends repeat with remaining rectangle place the two sealed ends together to make a bow use a small sharp knife to cut a 3cm wide 6cm long rectangle from remaining blue icing reserving excess brush 1 short end of rectangle with a little water wrap around the middle of the bow to cover the sealed ends pressing gently at the back to secure set aside with the moustache and buttons overnight to dry cover the reserved blue icing with plastic wrap
- to make the suspenders knead the red icing out on a lightly oiled surface until smooth roll out red icing to a 3mm thick 21cm long rectangle cut two 3cm wide 21cm long strips from the red icing arrange over the top of the cake to make the suspenders trimming if necessary
- roll out remaining blue icing to a 3mm thick 21cm long disc cut two 2cm thick 21cm long strips from blue icing brush the middle of the red icing strips on the cake with a little water arrange the blue icing strips on top of the red icing strips
- use your fingers to roll the remaining black icing into a thin log cut eight 2mm thick slices from the log roll each slice into a ball place over the indents on the white icing buttons cut remaining icing log in half brush the edges of the white icing buttons with a little water wrap each button with black icing trimming to fit arrange buttons on the cake
- arrange the blue icing bow over the centre of the cake insert the black icing moustache into the top of the cake to serve
